SKETCH 101: AN EIGHT WEEK SKETCH COMEDY COURSE AT UNEXPECTED PRODUCTIONS

 

Sketch 101 is a writing class series for anyone interested writing comedic sketches for the stage.

 

In this 8-week class, you will learn the tools of sketch comedy, including structure, character, point-of-view, premise, dialogue, game, beats, and editing/development.  You will learn to hone your own voice, style, and sense of humor.  In class, you will write and edit sketches of various types, both alone and in a supportive writer's room environment.  You will learn to clarify and pitch ideas, edit, and punch up dialogue. 

 

The last two weeks of class will be spent putting sketches the class have written together into a show, staging the show, and performing the show for friends and family.

SKETCH 201: ADVANCED WRITING WORKSHOP AND PERFORMANCE

 

 

Sketch 201 is a writing/performance series for graduates of Sketch 101 (or other previous sketch experience) interested in putting together and performing more sketch shows, as well as taking a dip into video sketch production.

 

In this 8-week class, the class will write, stage, and perform two full-length sketch shows to be performed for friends, family and the general public, and produce one video sketch.
